Why Deponti?
Imagine stepping outside on a grey October evening, louvres angled to keep the rain out, LED lights glowing overhead, a glass of wine in hand — and genuinely not wanting to go back inside. That's what a Deponti structure does. It doesn't just cover your garden. It turns it into somewhere you actually want to be, in any weather, across every season.
Deponti systems are built from premium powder-coated aluminium — tough, rust-proof, and designed to look as good in ten years as the day they went in. The louvred Pinela pergolas let you dial in exactly the right amount of sun, shade, or airflow with the touch of a button, while the veranda range gives you a permanently protected outdoor space flooded with natural light. Add glass sliding walls, integrated lighting, or retractable screens at any point — every system is designed to grow with how you use it.
What sets Deponti apart from the pergolas you'll find in garden centres or on consumer websites is that they're only available through registered trade partners. That means every structure is designed and installed by someone who knows the system properly — not self-assembled from a flatpack. Deponti's structural performance is independently certified by TÜV Nederland, so when we say it's built to last, there's paperwork behind it.

Two product families — one decision
The range divides into two distinct families. The right choice depends primarily on whether you want a fixed roof — always on, always protected — or a louvred roof you can open and close on demand.

Pinela pergolas — louvred roof, total control
The Pinela range is the louvred pergola system — the choice if you want control over light, shade, and airflow rather than a permanently sealed roof. Aluminium slats rotate to dial in exactly how much sun or ventilation you want, and close fully when you need rain protection.
Rainwater drains internally through the structure — no external downpipes cluttering the outside of your home.
The range includes five variants from a manual entry model through to the Pinela Deluxe Plus, which offers motorised control from anywhere in the world via a smartphone app.
-
Motorised SOMFY louvre control available — open, close, or tilt from your phone
-
Manual operation available for projects where motorisation isn't required
-
Pinela Glass uses glass panels in place of aluminium slats for a bright, airy feel with full weather closure
-
All models compatible with glass sliding walls for full or partial enclosure
-
Available in anthracite grey as standard; selected models available in additional RAL colours

Verandas — fixed roof, permanent protection
The veranda range uses polycarbonate or glass roofing panels in a fixed aluminium frame, wall-mounted to the house. They're the right choice if you want a structure that is always weatherproof overhead — no controls to operate, just a permanent covered space that works the moment you step outside.
The range spans nine models from a compact entry-level structure right through to systems that reach widths of over 12 metres when linked. Roof options include opal or clear polycarbonate and glass, depending on the model. Available RAL powder coat colours include black, anthracite grey, cream white, traffic white, and light grey, with availability varying by model.
-
Wall-mounted to the house on all veranda models, with one freestanding option available
-
Polycarbonate roof standard on most models; glass roof available across the upper range
-
Systems can be linked side by side for theoretically unlimited width
-
All models expandable with glass sliding walls for full enclosure

Make it a room, not just a roof
Every structure in our pergola and veranda range is designed to do far more than simply provide shelter. Each system is engineered to accept a full suite of side elements, lighting, and comfort upgrades — allowing you to transform your outdoor space into a fully functional extension of your home.
This modular approach gives you complete flexibility. You can start with a clean, open structure and enjoy immediate shelter from the elements, then enhance it over time with additional features. Alternatively, you can design a fully enclosed outdoor room from the outset — tailored precisely to how you want to use the space.
From sliding glass doors and fixed screens to integrated LED lighting, heating, and privacy solutions, every element is designed to work seamlessly together. The result is a cohesive, high-end finish that feels intentional, not added on.
Whether you're creating a sheltered dining area, a relaxing lounge space, or a year-round garden room, these systems are built to adapt to your lifestyle. With careful planning and the right combination of features, your pergola or veranda becomes a space you can use comfortably in every season — not just the warmer months.
Glass Sliding Walls
Enjoy uninterrupted views while adding wind protection and extending use into autumn and winter.
Integrated LED Lighting
Built-in lighting within the structure — no visible cables or fittings.
Glazed Side Elements
Choose slide-and-turn or windbreaker systems to keep the open feel while improving comfort.
Louvre Panels & Solid Walls
Add privacy and visual screening where needed.
Designed alongside your decking
A pergola or veranda works best when it's designed in conjunction with the surface beneath it. As composite decking specialists working with Millboard and Trex, we design both elements together as a single scheme — the structure, the deck level, the drainage, the lighting, and the overall layout coordinated from the start.
Combined pergola and decking projects are quoted together as one package, with a single point of contact throughout. This avoids the gaps — both visual and practical — that result when a decking contractor and a pergola supplier work independently of each other.

Our design & installation process
A structured, professional approach from start to finish.
We follow a clear 4-stage process to ensure every project is engineered correctly:
1.
Initial consultation & budget alignment
Before arranging a site visit, we take the time to understand your space, intended use, and expectations for your pergola or veranda.
If you can provide approximate dimensions or photos, we’ll give a ballpark investment guide based on Deponti systems — helping you understand likely costs before progressing.
This qualification step ensures:
-
Realistic budget alignment
-
Clarity from the outset
-
Efficient project planning
2.

Site survey & installation assessment
Once viability is confirmed, we carry out a detailed site survey across Merseyside and Cheshire.
We assess:
-
Installation location and fixing options
-
Ground conditions and base requirements
-
Drainage and water management
-
Access constraints
-
Integration with existing patio or decking
-
Suitability for glass walls or side elements
Where required, we advise on and deliver full groundwork preparation to ensure a solid, long-lasting installation.
3.
System configuration & specification
Using Deponti’s proven aluminium systems, we configure your pergola or veranda to suit your space and requirements.
We define:
-
Structure size and layout
-
Roof type (glass or louvred depending on system)
-
Optional upgrades (glass walls, screens, lighting)
-
Colour and finish options
-
Drainage and detailing
This ensures your installation is correctly specified from the outset, avoiding costly compromises later.
4.
Professional installation & guarantee
Your pergola or veranda is installed by experienced professionals, in line with manufacturer specifications.
We ensure:
-
Precise installation and alignment
-
Secure structural fixing
-
Proper water management
-
Clean finishing and detailing
All installations are fully insured and backed by our structured installation guarantee.
Built to perform. Designed to last. Installed properly.

Planning permission — what you need to know
Pergolas — usually permitted development
In many cases, a pergola can be installed under permitted development rules — meaning planning permission is not usually required, provided certain conditions are met.
Typical guidelines include:
-
The structure must not cover more than 50% of the garden area around the original house
-
Within 2 metres of a boundary, the maximum height is 2.5 metres
-
Beyond 2 metres, height limits are typically around 3 metres for flat or louvred roofs
-
The structure must not be positioned forward of the front elevation of the property
Wall-mounted pergolas may be assessed differently depending on design and positioning.
We review all of this during the consultation stage to ensure your project complies from the outset.
Verandas — planning considerations
Verandas are often treated differently under planning rules, particularly when attached to the house.
In many cases, they are considered an extension rather than a standalone structure, meaning planning permission may be required depending on size, design, and positioning.
Factors that can influence this include:
-
Whether the structure is attached to the property
-
Overall size and projection
-
Roof type (such as glass or solid systems)
-
Proximity to boundaries
We assess all planning considerations as part of our survey and will guide you through the process where required — ensuring everything is clear before installation begins.
Frequently asked questions about pergolas & verandas
1. What's the difference between a veranda and a louvred pergola?
A veranda has a fixed roof — polycarbonate or glass panels in a rigid aluminium frame, permanently in place and always weatherproof overhead. A louvred pergola has rotating aluminium slats you can open, close, or tilt to control light, shade, and ventilation. When the louvres are closed, rainwater drains internally through the gutters and down the hollow posts. Both can be enclosed with glass sliding walls.
2. Can the louvres be controlled remotely?
Yes — the motorised models use SOMFY drives and can be operated by remote control, wall switch, or smartphone app. Manual louvre operation is available on the entry-level model for projects where motorisation isn't required.
3. How wide can the structure be?
Individual veranda systems reach widths of up to approximately 7 metres on most models, with the largest veranda available up to 12 metres wide as a single unit. Multiple systems can be linked side by side for theoretically unlimited width. The Pinela Deluxe Plus reaches a maximum width of 6,980mm as a single structure. For very large spans, we'll discuss the options at the design stage.
4. Can glass walls be added later?
Yes. Every structure in the range is designed to accept glass sliding walls at any point — either when the main structure is installed or as a later addition. If you think you may want to enclose the space in future, it's worth discussing at the design stage so we can factor it into the layout.
5. What maintenance is required?
The structures are low-maintenance but not maintenance-free. Keeping the aluminium clean and ensuring any moving parts are lubricated as required are standard conditions of the manufacturer's warranty. We'll provide specific guidance for your chosen product at handover, as requirements vary between models.
6. What colours are available?
The range is available in RAL powder coat finishes. The most widely available colour is anthracite grey (RAL7024). Other options — including black (RAL9005), cream white (RAL9001), traffic white (RAL9005), and light grey (RAL9016) — are available on selected models. We'll confirm the colour options for your chosen system at the design stage.
7. Do I need planning permission?
For most freestanding pergolas, no — subject to the permitted development conditions outlined above. For verandas, planning permission may be required. For wall-mounted structures, it depends on how the structure is classified. We flag the relevant planning considerations at survey stage and advise you to confirm with your local planning authority before work is agreed.
Can it be installed on my existing patio or deck?
Possibly — it depends on whether the existing surface is level and structurally sound enough to support the anchor loads. We assess this as part of the site survey. Where the existing surface isn't suitable, we discuss options including reinforcing it or preparing a new concrete base alongside the project.
